Those travelers that are taking advantage of Albuquerque RV rentals from the local Cruise America rental center can venture out on a number of day trips if they want to stay fairly close to the launch point of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Those who aren't quite sure of what to do while touring the area will soon learn why this state is called the "Land of Enchantment." Here are five highly suggested destinations to visit while traveling in your Cruise America Motorhome Rental:

Sandia Crest Trail Byway - Located just a few minutes from Albuquerque, RV travelers will feel like they are miles into the wilderness when they visit the Sandia Mountains. There they will find picnic areas, great hiking and biking and snow sports during the winter. While there, be sure to visit the Museum of Archaeology and Culture, as well as the kid-favorite Tinkertown Museum, where you will find endless entertainment for kids and adults alike.

Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway - For captivating exploration of towns from Cedar Crest up to San Marcos (just below Santa Fe), navigate your Cruise America RV rental along the Turquoise Trail. This historic area is comprised of 15,000 square miles right in the heart of Central New Mexico. It is highly recommended that you not miss the mining towns of Madrid, as well as Cerrillos, where you will be entertained with art, theater, crafts, restaurants and museums. Don't miss the Casa Grande Trading Post, with its shop full of interesting and eclectic items, each with a priceless historical value.

Jemez Mountain Trail Byway - If you drive from Albuquerque to Jemez, you will pass amazing geological formations along the way, as well as Indian ruins, the Jemez Pueblo and the splendor of the Jemez Mountains. You will find hot spring locations in Jemez, and adventurous places to hike in the spectacular Battleship Rock, Cabezon and Soda Dam areas. You may wish to head your Cruise America motorhome to Fenton Lake State Park, where you'll find a valley of Ponderosa Pine Trees along the banks of the Cebolla River.

Tent Rocks National Monument (Kasha-Katuwe) - As a result of ancient geological events estimated to have taken place seven million years ago, this area is filled with cone-shaped formations rising from the earth. They were formed as a result of volcanic activity that left pumice, ash and tuff deposits over 1,000 feet thick. Visitors to the park will find small, round translucent volcanic glass (obsidian) fragments that were formed by the rapid cooling. Some of these strange looking tent-shaped formations rise as high as 90 feet in the air. It is a fun, yet educational experience, which allows whole family to witness the powers of nature.

Albuquerque RV rentals by Cruise America are so popular because there are so many things to do all over the state of New Mexico in a motorhome. Traveling in an RV is the most comfortable and convenient method of exploring the countryside. Not only does each destination bring a pleasurable experience for the whole family, the actual journey is also a priceless reward.
