why rent an rv in Dallas Texas?

Dallas is a mighty large town in a mighty large state. There is a myriad of things to do in this city, as well as the surrounding areas, and there’s no better way to explore it than in one of our Dallas Love Field RV rentals. As the name implies, this Cruise America rental center is conveniently located near the Dallas Love Field airport.

Known to locals as “Big D,” Dallas offers a whole world of things to see and places to go while traveling in the comfort of your rental RV. You’ll enjoy a visit to the Fort Worth Stockyards, where you’ll find a plethora of restaurants, shops, nightlife, historical landmarks, livestock shows and even rodeos! Visit the sixth floor of what was once the Book Depository, where the events that led up to the assassination of John F. Kennedy are chronicled. Check out the renowned Fair Park, where the annual Texas State Fair takes place. It also features the Dallas Aquarium, as well as the largest collection of art deco buildings in the nation. Your family will enjoy a visit to the West End, an historic visitor favorite located in what was once the warehouse district, now home to over 100 shops and eateries. The list goes on and on, but suffice it to say that you could spend an entire vacation in Dallas without ever leaving the city limits. However, should you decide to embark on a daytrip or two, we have some ideas for a couple of unique nearby getaways:

Mineral Wells is an intriguing town located one-and-a-half hours (as the RV rolls) from Dallas. You can get there by taking I-30 W to I-20 W, then hopping off at exit 405 for Ric Williamson Memorial Hwy, and turn right. Turn left onto US-180 W, then left onto S Oak Ave for another 17 miles. This intriguing little town has been known since 1900 for its natural mineral springs that provided folks with water that contained what they believed to be special healing powers. It all happened at the turn of the century when James Lynch, tired of traveling to nearby towns for fresh drinking water, dug his own well. When he began drinking from it, he claimed to have felt better than he ever had. People began moving into the area to take advantage of this “magic water,” and that’s when the town of Mineral Wells was built. Unfortunately, all but one of the wells has since gone dry, but not to worry—you and the family can still visit that functioning well at the Famous Mineral Water Company, and taste the “miracle” water for yourselves! While in town, you may want to pay a visit to the abandoned Crazy Water Hotel. It was originally built to accommodate the hordes of people seeking the miraculous bottled water, but has long been abandoned since the wells dried up. The draw to the hotel (now a retirement hotel) is that many believe it to be haunted, as there have been several ghost sightings! Other “must see” attractions in Mineral Wells are the Brazos River, Clark Gardens Botanical Park, Lake Mineral Wells State Park & Trailway, the Little Rock Schoolhouse Museum, Mineral Wells Fossil Park, the National Vietnam War Museum Complex and Possum Kingdom State Park.

Recently named as one of the top travel destinations in Texas, the town of Palestine is located approximately 110 miles from Dallas. This enchanting East Texas town is considered a “Main Street City,” and is home to over 1,800 historic sites, not the least of which is the Main Street District. Once vacant and deteriorating, Main Street was revitalized starting in 1986, and is now a thriving attraction for visitors and locals, alike. While visiting Palestine, be sure to enjoy the many stately homes, the scenic drives, and the Texas State Railroad. Davey Dogwood Park is full of gorgeous Dogwood trees spread over more than 200 acres of beauty. If you're lucky enough to be there in the spring, you’ll marvel as the trees display their awe-inspiring white blossoms, which compliment the array of wild spring flowers sprouting up. There are also meandering scenic walking (and driving) trails. To get to Palestine from Dallas, take I-45 S to US-287 S.

Covering the entire state of Texas in a Cruise America recreational vehicle would take a very long time—so you might as well enjoy it one region at a time. However, if you do decide to cover all of the Lone Star State in one trip, it would be the best “long time” you’d ever experience!
