RV Rental in Denver - South , CO
It is the beauty of places like Denver, Colorado that have inspired the words to so many songs. The green, mountainous terrain set against the blue, endless skies provide for not only amazing song lyrics, but incredible travel and sightseeing too. So lush is the state, that it is oft times referred to as the Switzerland of America. With Cruise America's Denver RV rentals, the world is the oyster for anyone who wishes to partake in a relaxing, RV journey.
There are a myriad of things for the whole family to see and do in the Mile High City. For instance, the Denver calendar is packed all throughout the year with enchanting cultural festivals, including The Cherry Creek Arts Festival through the Fourth of July weekend and Denver Arts Week, held every November.
If you want to venture out of the big city and take a few road trips, there are plenty to be offered. For instance, just 34 miles west of Denver you can explore the scenery of the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway, otherwise known as the "Showcase of the Front Range." This scenic route provides unparalleled views of the Continental Divide and carpeted with lush trees and greenery. While traveling this route, you can stop at the Rocky Mountain National Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and all of the lush scenery in-between.
On your adventure along the route you will run into the twin towns of Central City and Blackhawk in Clear Creek Canyon. The area of these two towns was once referred to as "The Richest Square Mile on Earth." These towns are so close together it is sometimes hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Both of these historic towns have been revived to thriving communities, and both are known today for limited-stakes gambling. Besides the gambling, the towns are also known for having some of the best-preserved Victorian architecture in the West. Some of the other attractions include the Teller House Hotel, where President Grant once stayed, as well as the Central City Opera House, which still offers an amazing season of opera throughout the summer. You and your family can enjoy tours of the mines and mining museums. You can also take advantage of the many locations that will teach you how to pan for gold in streams where a half billion dollars of the coveted, shiny metal was found. Who knows? You may get lucky.
Just 42 miles west of Denver is Georgetown. This is a delightful Victorian village set in a beautiful valley amidst the mountains. Here you will find over 200 restored buildings from the 1870’s. On Main Street you will enjoy restaurants and shops, as well as antique stores that are located in old homes along the way. You can then hop aboard the Georgetown Loop Railroad (if you are there in the summer months) and ride the narrow gauge steam locomotives that wind down a mountain ledge, at one point crossing over a 90-foot high trestle.
No matter what points of interest you choose to visit, you will be traveling in comfort and style in a Cruise America class C rental RV, and that makes any trip a journey to remember.
