On your next vacation, enjoy the sights and the comfort from one of our Cruise America Knoxville RV rentals. The town of Knoxville is nestled at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, set on the banks of the Tennessee River. Discover Knoxville’s unique blend of small-town charm and urban entertainment. Become a part of history as you tour the city’s historic sites on foot or by horse-drawn carriage. Catch a tune at one of the frequent live performances in Knoxville’s thriving downtown music scene. Enjoy a round of golf at one of many lush courses. Explore the river in a paddleboat or enjoy a cruise on the Star of Knoxville Riverboat. Visit the icon of the 1982 World's Fair, the Sunsphere. It's a 266-foot tall hexagonal steel truss structure that's topped with a 75-foot gold-colored glass sphere. It's open to the pubic, complete with an observation deck and restaurant.

If you decide to venture out of Knoxville and explore the Volunteer State a little closer, here are a few ideas:

Cumberland Gap – Take Highway 63 and proceed east to Highway 25E. Travel 2 miles north on 25E and you will arrive at the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. This trip will let you be one with nature, as well as one with history! This area was known as the "First Great Gateway to the West" for the pioneers. From the top of the Pinnacle Observation Deck perched 2,400 feet in the air, you can look over the terrain that was once trodden upon by Daniel Boone. In this park, you will find over 85 miles of trails and camping, so there is no shortage of places to park your rental RV. It was this famous gap that was passed through by Native Americans walking along the Warrior's Path, just as pioneers and travelers walked the Wilderness Road through the gap as they traveled westward. Control of the gap was vied for by both sides during the civil war. There are underground caves beneath the surface, and gorgeous scenery on the surface.

Chattanooga – This town is rapidly becoming Tennessee's tourist destination of choice due to the extensive number of things a family can do here. One of the most endearing qualities about this town is that almost every attraction is easily reachable on foot. There are plenty of things to do that will keep a family busy for a long time without breaking the vacation bank. As an example, some of the attractions people most enjoy are the Chattanooga Choo Choo, the Hunter Museum of American Art, the IMAX 3-D Theater, the Lookout Mountain Attractions and Ruby Falls, amongst many others. For the kids in the group, there is the Creative Discovery Museum. This youngster's wonderland is guaranteed to paint a smile on the faces of your younger family members, as well as teach them through the power of play. To get to Chattanooga from Knoxville, Travel west on I-40 for 112 miles and follow the signs.

Wherever you choose to head in your rental motorhome from Cruise America, you will find a world of relaxation and enjoyment, as you control your own schedule, and follow your own itinerary. And that is what the RV lifestyle is all about.
