Discover the Valley of the Sun and the American Southwest in one of the many Phoenix RV rentals from Cruise America! As a matter of fact, our headquarters are located right in the nearby town of Mesa! Phoenix, and the cities surrounding it comprise what is referred to as the Valley of the Sun. It's as though it were just one huge city. Some of the towns that make up the valley are Mesa, Gilbert, Apache Junction, Chandler, Maricopa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Glendale, Surprise, Peoria … and many more. Needless to say, there are a whole host of things to do and see throughout the valley, and it would take years to do it all! A good start, however, would be to visit the Heard Museum, designed to educate visitors about the lives, arts, culture and heritage of the indigenous Native Americans. You are guaranteed to learn things you never knew, and will never forget. You can also visit the world renowned Phoenix Zoo. It's the largest privately owned, non-profit zoo in the nation, where you can frolic with the monkeys in Monkey Village, or take a journey through the cave of venomous desert dwellers.

If you'd like to venture out of the Valley of the Sun, there are dozens of incredible daytrips. Here are a few ideas:

Known as the Red Rock Country, Sedona lies just two hours north of Phoenix. This slice of heaven offers breathtaking views of beautiful red rock vistas, overlook that will inspire a love of nature, and hundreds of miles of gorgeous hiking and biking trails. This town is known for its healing and restorative powers, and after one visit, you'll understand why. It is also a shopper's paradise, offering souvenirs of the old west, as well as modern-day curative therapies. There are dozens of beautiful places in and around Sedona to park your Cruise America RV for the night. You could park in one of the many RV parks along the Oak Creek Canyon and fall asleep to the sounds of the rolling creek. To get there, just take I-17 north out of Phoenix for 98 miles, then take exit 298 towards Sedona. Follow SR-179 for about fifteen miles and you will see the red rock formations that make Sedona so well visited.

After experiencing Sedona, you may as well go another 2 hours north to the Grand Canyon. This natural Wonder of the World will leave you speechless as you overlook nature's artwork. If you dare, you can walk out onto the glass bottom walkway, where you can look 4,700 feet down to the bottom of the canyon. It's as if you are dangling in midair. To get to the South Rim of the canyon from Sedona, take SR 89A towards Black Canyon N towards Flagstaff, then merge onto I-40 W. Take exit 340 B and follow AZ-64 and follow the signs to the canyon.

With your Phoenix motorhome rental, you'll be on the road to excitement no matter where you go. From fishing and boating in Arizona's many lakes and rivers to floating down the relaxing Salt River on an inner tube, you can't go wrong as you explore the Grand Canyon State in a rental RV from Cruise America.
