Unique attractions, historic sites, charming neighborhoods and exciting entertainment options are all on the table to serve up a vacation of a lifetime. And no matter how many things you are able to see in St. Louis during your visit, you`ll find that there is more, so be sure to make a list of all the additional things you`re going to experience on your next visit.
While exploring the Gateway to the West, you should get a bird`s eye view of the city by riding 630 feet to the top of the world-famous Gateway Arch, or take a paddle-wheel boat cruise down the mighty Mississippi River. Catch a thrill ride at Six Flags St. Louis or enjoy the nightlife on downtown`s Washington Avenue. There`s always fun to be had at the St. Louis Zoo, which has been titled one of the nation`s best. Don`t miss the chance to visit the St. Louis Science Center or enjoy the serenity of Forest Park, home of the 1904 World`s Fair. Embrace your spirituality at Saint Louis University`s Museum of Contemporary Religious Art, or enjoy an educational journey through the St. Louis Science Center. Don’t miss the opportunity to walk down the Delmar Loop, a six-block entertainment and shopping extravaganza.
If you want to hit the road in your class C rental RV, consider a 50-minute trip to nearby Grafton, Illinois, which is just a short drive up the Great River Road that winds along the Mighty Mississippi between Alton, IL and Grafton, IL. It offers 20 miles of breathtaking scenery with majestic bluffs on one side, and the swift, shimmering river on the other. Once there, you can stroll down the quaint Main Street to visit the many antique shops, as well as the boutiques and fudge shops. If you are a wine connoisseur, there are seven wineries in Grafton that would love to show you around. You can go horseback riding at the Pere Marquette Stables, or take a water adventure on the Hakuna Matata tour boat ride. Should you decide to stay for more than the day, there are plenty of great RV parks in the area.
Another great trip would be to visit Kimmswick and St. Genevieve, Missouri. You can get to this area by taking Interstate 55 south from St. Louis for about an hour. St. Genevieve is the oldest town west of the Mississippi. Here you will find homes that are centuries old, as well as great antique shops and restaurants. At the local wineries there are live concerts on the weekends to enjoy, and it`s not unusual for folks to bring picnic baskets for a leisurely lunch mixed with great music. If you happen to visit Kimmswick in the early fall, you can enjoy the Kimmswick Art Fair and Apple Butter Festival. Almost every street in the town is filled with arts and crafts tents, and it`s an experience you won`t ever forget.
Cruise America is awaiting your call, so we can set you up in the RV that works perfect for your family, then enjoy all that St. Louis has to offer.
