why rent an rv in Alberta?

When you are in Alberta, you will come as close to Mother Nature as you can get without being Mother Nature herself … especially if you are traveling in an Alberta rental RV from Cruise Canada!

You can discover the jaw-dropping beauty of the Canadian Rockies, or hike in the national parks of Banff and Yoho. You can explore the park’s geological history and the Continental Divide, as well as fly-fish in Alberta’s best trout streams. Or, if you are wanting to go where your rental motorhome cannot, take a train through the Rockies and see scenery like you never knew existed. And, there is plenty of great camping for your Alberta RV rental in the province, so you’ll have a broad choice of places to park for the night, the week, or longer.

Alberta is a province in the western part of Canada, encompassing vast coniferous forests, prairies, mountains and desert badlands; all perfect for traveling in your rental RV. There are more than 600 lakes in this province, along with rich mineral deposits. In the Canadian Rocky Mountain parks, you can see glaciers in the Columbia Icefields. There is Glacier International Peace Park, which serves as a biosphere reserve located right on the southern border of the United States.

The Alberta Badlands are located in the southeast part of the province. It’s known for its beauty and striking landscapes. The valleys and plains that make up this shapely terrain have been created from millenniums of erosion, and they are best seen from the windows of your rental RV from Cruise Canada. It’s a very popular place if you are a fossil hunter, as there are several excellent fossil beds and exhibits in this region. Some of the best are the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, and Dinosaur Provincial Park near Brooks. This is also where you’ll find the region’s largest city, Medicine Hat.

The Alberta Rockies is home to Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper, and is known for its sheer beauty. Whether you’re a city slicker, a rugged camper or just a relaxed in-the-middle kind of traveler, there is never a shortage of things for you to do. The space is seemingly endless in these mountains, so it’s easy to escape the chaos of the metropolis, and find total seclusion. And, because your Cruise Canada rental RV is fully equipped and self-sufficient, you don’t even need an RV park!

The Calgary Region is the home to the largest city in Alberta, which is Calgary. Calgary is home to one of our Cruise Canada rental locations, and a great place to start your journey in a top-of-the-line class C rental motorhome. It’s a taste of the big-city life, but just a short distance from the tranquility of isolation. It is the home of the world-famous Calgary Stampede, welcoming more than 700,000 guests each year. It’s also home to many Canadian oil companies, and was host to the 1988 Winter Olympics.

The region of Central Alberta is a mostly-rural area where you’ll see rolling hills, prairies, and even a few forests as you roll through the region in your rental RV. This is where wild horses run free in the wide-open spaces. While rural, this is still a very densely-populated area of the region, outnumbered only by Edmonton and Calgary. The region is centered around the town of Red Deer, and an important part of the economy is made up of agriculture and energy. Some of the attractions found in the region are the Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions, the Canadian Petroleum Discovery Center in Leduc, the Discovery Wildlife Park, Kerry Wood Nature Center, Gaetz Lake Sanctuary in Red Deer, and so much more.

Eastern Alberta is a less-populated region made up of mostly forests and farms. There is a great deal of fishing and hunting in the vast wilderness, and plenty of places to park your Cruise Canada RV rental. The southern part is an agricultural area, while the north is the focus of Canada’s oil sands industry.

The Edmonton Capital Region surrounds Alberta’s capital city, Edmonton. This city is home to approximately 1.35 million people. It’s famous for its gorgeous river valley park system and the North Saskatchewan River Valley (which offers over 100 kilometers of recreational trails, wildlife viewing, and city views). There is an abundance of parks in the river valley, including Fort Edmonton Park, Canada’s largest historical park. All of these areas are great for exploring in your rental RV. If you’re not really in the outdoor exploration mood, you can always opt for a day at West Edmonton Mall, the largest shopping mall in the Western Hemisphere.

The region of Peace River Valley is known for its beauty and historical destinations. There are also a number of more “lighthearted” attractions, like the world’s largest beaver. There is a great deal of wilderness and wildlife for your viewing pleasure, as well as music and cultural festivals, fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, sledding, skiing, horseback riding, golfing, hiking and waterskiing. The largest settlement in the region is Grande Prairie. Now that is a lot of activities for your Alberta RV adventure.

Southern Alberta offers beautiful mountains, forests, prairies, canyons, Canadian Badlands and foothills. It’s also known for Waterton Lakes National Park. It’s where the Rockies seem to emerge from the ground with little transition. The largest city in the region is Lethbridge. Southern Alberta is prime road trip territory. Drive your Cruise Canada rental RV through the Drumheller Valley route from Calgary to the Dinosaur and Hoodoo trails. You can step out of your Alberta RV rental and hike through what appears to be a virtual moonscape.

As you can see, there is no shortage of things to do in Alberta, and there is no better way to do them than while creating memories in your Cruise Canada rental RV.
