Brunswick
Consider exploring Northern Ohio in one of our Cruise America Brunswick RV rentals. Not only is this the most comfortable, easy and convenient way to travel, it also affords you the freedom of going where you want … when you want. Gone are the nights looking for a hotel with vacancies, then checking out before you even get rested. No longer do you have to find a restaurant in order to feed the hungry members of your travel party. You have a refrigerator in your rental RV, and you can stock it with all the goodies you want. And there's a full kitchen to cook in, should you choose. As far as check out times; they don’t exist!
Brunswick is a delightful place to visit, and a good start for many nearby daytrips. How about spending a day on an Ohio island on Put-in-Bay? This is one of four islands on Lake Erie, and is the home to the third-tallest national monument, Perry’s International Peace Memorial. It is a very popular destination for visitors who are looking for a little island paradise. You can get to the island by taking the ferry, going on a private boat or catching a plane. The ferry ride is only 20 minutes, so you may be money ahead to go with that option. You don't even have to leave your RV behind; you can take it onto the ferry with you and park it in one of the RV parks on the island. It can't get any more convenient than that!
While on the island, you may choose to explore in your RV, or you can rent golf carts or bicycles to carry you around to the various sites. There are also taxis available, as well as an island train.
The first stop on your island tour could be the Perry's Cave and Family Fun Center. There are a host of activities at this facility, such as a rock climbing wall, an 18-hole miniature golf course, a museum, and for the main attraction; Perry's Cave. This cave was discovered by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry during the war of 1812. In it there is an underground lake that provided fresh drinking water to the soldiers fighting in the war. The tour of the cave lasts about 20 minutes. Be aware, however, that this tour is not handicapped-accessible. The cave is open May thru September, 7 days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In April and October, it’s open on weekends only from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These hours may change due to inclement weather, so call ahead!
Another attraction at the fun center is the Butterfly House; an aviary full of butterflies that flutter all around you, as well as on you. The hours for this attraction are: Memorial Day – Labor Day 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During the spring and fall the hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
There is also the Heinemann Winery & Crystal Cave, the Perry's International Peace Memorial and Visitors Center, the Boardwalk on Bay View Avenue, the Put-in-Bay Winery on the Doller Estate, the Stonehenge Historic Home Tour and finally, the South Bass Island State Park (with full service RV sites). If you are making the trip during the cold season, many of the attractions may be closed. Be sure to call ahead or check online to plan your schedule.
Whether you get adventurous and go island exploring, or whether you decide to just cruise your rented motorhome throughout the many beautiful byways of Northern Ohio, you are bound to have a relaxing, enjoyable experience in your choice of our class C Brunswick RV rentals.
