Nashville

Otherwise known as Music City, Nashville, Tennessee is at the heart of the world of country music, and it's a great place to sightsee and explore. The best way to visit this bustling nest of entertainment is to do it in one of Cruise America's Nashville RV rentals. Conveniently, there is a Cruise America rental center right in town.

While in Nashville, you can visit the world famous Grand Ole Opry. Performances at this institution have been a tradition for over 75 years, and are still going strong. This live-audience radio show is the longest-running radio program in the country. It is televised on CMT and can be heard around the world on satellite radio. You may get to see some of the hottest stars in country music perform while you are there!

You can take your family for a visit to the Nashville Zoo, or hop aboard the Music City Trolley for a narrated tour through downtown Nashville. You may choose to visit the Country Hall of Fame and Museum, or travel back in time with the Belle Meade Plantation Tour. If you are a history buff, you can explore the history of the Civil War on a tour of the battlefield of Franklin, the Carter House and the Carnton Plantation.

If you want to go exploring outside of Nashville, there are some magnificent daytrips to be taken. For instance, you may enjoy a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Named as one of the "Top 45 Places to Go" in the world by the New York Times, this is one of America's most breathtaking cities. There are so many things that one can see and do here, that it will require more than a day to get them done. From outdoor adventures to live shows, amazing restaurants and world-class events, you'll never run short of things to do in this showcase of family enjoyment. Aside from activities in the city, you may wish to venture outside and experience the outdoors. Chattanooga has been named the "Best Town Ever" by Outside magazine. This town features some of the best settings for rock climbing, mountain biking, hang gliding, white water rafting and more. If you want adventure that is a little more tamed, you can enjoy a bike ride or stroll along the 13-mile Riverwalk along the Tennessee River. There are a great number of RV parks in the area to choose from, so that at the end of your day you can kick back and relax in your rental RV from Cruise America. To get to Chattanooga from Nashville, take I-24 E for approximately two hours.

Other great ideas for daytrips include Memphis, TN, Huntsville, Alabama and Bowling Green, Kentucky, all within a short distance from Nashville.
