why rent an rv in New Haven Connecticut?

Discover the picturesque shoreline, college-town charm and wide recreational opportunities of New Haven, Connecticut. Cruising in one of our New Haven RV rentals from Cruise America is the ideal way to experience this historical, scenic region, and it's a great way to start a long-distance road trip. New Haven is incredibly versatile with its range of options for the downtown visit.

You can shop 'til you drop at the many stores of Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets, and the number of unique jewelry and clothing shops is almost overwhelming at the town centers, such as New Haven's Idiom. Summer is a great season to be in New Haven. It is a whirlwind of festivals, concerts and special events on the New Haven Green. If you want to get some sun, pack up a towel and picnic and head to the nearby Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, where you can stroll along the sandy beaches along the boardwalk, or hop into the water for a saltwater swim. You can park your RV for the evening right near the beach if you wish. You could visit Sleeping Giant State Park, located in Hamden, just a few minutes from New Haven. Here you can hike, picnic and observe nature at its best. It is two miles of mountaintop that resembles a sleeping giant; hence, the name!

If you'd like to slip on your traveling shoes, you could take a short 40-minute drive to Bristol, where you will find a world of family fun at the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the country. Lake Compounce was built in 1846, and offers a vast number of rides and attractions for the whole family. It is the home of the world-famous Boulder Dash, voted the number 1 wooden roller coaster in the world. There are more rides and attractions than a family can enjoy in one day, so plan on an overnight stay at one of the many RV parks in the area, including the Lake Compounce Camping area.

It's hard to find a better place for a seaside weekend than Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Besides basking in the sun on one of the many wonderful beaches, you can also enjoy other ocean-related activities. You may want to go on a whale watching tour, or a land-sea excursion on one of the amphibious Duckmobile tours. This adventure will take you on a tour that includes the Kennedy legacy, lighthouses, fabulous beaches and some spectacular waterfront properties. If you are wanting to watch for something other than whales, you might prefer a seal cruise, which takes you from Orleans to Chatham and back. You may be watching for seals, but who knows just what you may see pop up from the surface of the ocean? You could take a harbor cruise that will show you the Cape Cod sights from the water, eliminating the city traffic altogether. You could visit the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster and learn about the geological history of the cape, and its early native inhabitants. To get to the Cape Cod area from New Haven, take I-95 N and US-6 towards Providence/Cape Cod. The scenic trip takes approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, and it's well worth it, as the time seems to fly in the comfort of your Cruise America rental RV.
