why rent an rv in Seattle Washington?

The Pacific Northwest is an incredible region for travel, especially when it’s done in one of our Kirkland RV rentals from Cruise America!

Kirkland, Washington is a bustling waterfront town with an intriguing blend of outdoor recreation, shopping, dining and art displays. It’s located just east of Seattle on the shores of Lake Washington. There are no other cities in the Puget Sound region that offer as many waterfront beaches and parks as does this awe-inspiring community.

Kirkland offers a plethora of opportunities for you and your family to explore nature—without ever leaving the city. From the breathtaking wetlands of Juanita Bay, to the dense trees of Bridal Trails State Park and Big Finn Hill Park, you will never lack for outdoor activities in this scenic town. Whether you’re cheering at a baseball game in Peter Kirk Park, playing volleyball at Houghton Beach or cruising the lakefront on a rented bicycle, you’ll feel the stress of everyday life melt away, being replaced by the fun and family togetherness that comes your way when traveling in your rental RV. Oh, and as a note of interest, Kirkland was the home of the NFL Seattle Seahawks for their first 32 seasons. It is also the headquarters of the Kirkland brand products that you find at Costco Wholesale Stores across the nation!

There is plenty of quality RV camping available in Kirkland, so you can stay and enjoy the area for as long as you like. However, if you choose to hit the road, there are countless destinations that are within an hour from this conveniently located starting point.

Located between Seattle and the Sammamish River Valley, and just 5 miles east of Kirkland, is the city of Redmond. Here you will find beautiful parks, green, meandering trails and great outdoor entertainment. Pay a visit to Marymoor park, where you’ll find 640 acres that offer picnic areas, extensive paved trails, a cycling velodrome, a rock climbing wall, soccer and baseball fields and a radio controlled airplane field. There’s even a dog park where Fido can stretch his legs and run ‘til his heart’s content! Redmond is host to the nation’s longest running bike race; Redmond Derby Days, held each July. The wine enthusiast of the family will enjoy being just minutes from the Woodinville world-class wine country, and the shoppers in the group are sure to enjoy the area’s widest selection of stores at Center Street Plaza, not to mention the quaint shops of downtown. For those seeking cultural entertainment, there are year round events with film, theater and literary arts, with live music to fit everyone’s taste.

Representing every appellation in the state of Washington is the Woodinville Wine Country. Just 8 miles north of Kirkland, this lush landscape, nestled in the gorgeous Sammamish River Valley, is home to more than 100 wineries and tasting rooms. Visitors are offered easy access to some of Washington’s most critically-acclaimed wines. Even if you aren’t an enthusiast of the vine, you can stroll the pristine grounds of the wineries, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour and take advantage of the award-winning restaurants and beautiful RV parks in the area. To get there from Kirkland, take I-405 N, NE on 124th / 132nd Ave to NE 143rd Pl.

If you point your motorhome in a westerly direction, you need only to travel 12 miles via WA-520 W and I-5 S to the gorgeous, world renowned city of Seattle. The things to do there are endless, but there are a few attractions that cannot go unnamed. These include Pikes Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum/Olympic Sculpture Park, the world-famous Space Needle and the Experience Music Project Museum. For the sports minded, the teams here include the NFL Seahawks, the MLB’s Mariners, the Seattle Sounders FC and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm. You can catch a game if your timing is right!

The only thing that beats the comfort and convenience of traveling in a motorhome across this great country of ours, is enjoying the family togetherness you experience while doing it.
