On the Road in Denver

People who stay in our Cruise America Denver RV rentals are always literally a mile high. Denver, otherwise known as the Mile High City, is nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It's a beautiful place to be in a Cruise America rental motorhome, but then again, so is everywhere!

When you rent an RV from Cruise America, you are in for the trip of your life, but proper planning and carefully thought out packing is a must to get the full enjoyment factor in. Because your rental motorhome has a full kitchen, you can save a great deal of money by not having to eat out for every meal. You don't ever need to go to the restaurant unless you want to. But in order to fully enjoy your kitchen amenities, you must be prepared by packing the proper kitchen basics:

  • Sugar/Sweeteners
  • Seasoning and Spices
  • Baking Soda (can be used for more than just baking)
  • Food Staples (such as rice, beans and pasta)
  • Powdered Milk
  • Dishwashing Liquid
  • Trash Bags
  • Paper Towels
  • Kitchen Linens
  • Basic Cooking Utensils
  • Basic Pots and Pans
  • Basic Cutlery

Many of these items are available from Cruise America in an optional kitchen kit that can be rented along with your recreational vehicle, but sometimes packing your own is better because you know exactly what you will have on your trip.

As you pack up for your Denver RV adventure, remember that you should only take what you will use. If you won't need it or use it, leave it at home. If just one of you drinks coffee, a 12-cup coffee maker is not necessary. Take a one-cup unit instead and save your counter space. Also, try to avoid packing glass items. Not only are they heavier than plastic, they are subject to being broken while on the road... especially if it is a rough road.

If you can plan your menu in advance, you will be miles ahead of the game. By planning your menu, you will know just what ingredients you should bring along. Things like produce and meats can be purchased once you get to your destination, but having the non-perishables along is a great time and money saver.
