On your next Southern California road trip adventure, try traveling in one of our RV rentals in Fillmore from Cruise America. What a great place to kick off a southern California trip! The small-town feel of Fillmore offers a change from its surrounding bustling cities and suburbs. Explore Fillmore’s classic downtown area, which has been featured in a variety of TV shows for its preserved look and charm. You can visit the historic trains of Fillmore & Western Railway in this equally historic little town, located at the heart of the Heritage Valley. There are several things to enjoy here, no matter what time of the year you visit. As you roll into the community you will find yourself in the business district that hasn't changed much since the 1920's. Fillmore is steeped in a rich agricultural environment, with citrus and avocados being the main crops. If you take a ride on the historic trains, you will pass through these farms.

If you want to venture out of an RV rental in Fillmore and go to another location somewhere fun for the family, you can find that very thing no matter which direction you choose to go. Just an hour out of Fillmore is the Los Angeles area, and there is so much to see and do there you will be amazed at how time flies. For instance, the Griffith Observatory and Griffith Park is a very educational, mesmerizing experience for the whole family. To get there, take I-5 South from CA-126. Exit towards Los Feliz Blvd and take N. Vermont Ave to E. Observatory Ave. Plan on spending a good portion of the day there, and plan on being much smarter about our world and where it lies in the universe when you leave. The observatory is open year-round, six days per week (closed on Sunday) and there is no admission fee.

Another fun trip for the family would be to nearby Santa Monica, which is also only an hour away. From Fillmore, take CA-126 E to I-5 S towards Los Angeles. Merge onto I-10 W and that will take you right into Santa Monica, which will be exits 4 and 5. There are great RV parks in the area, and in this town you will find the whole "fun package." You can frolic in the sun and surf 'til the sun sets, or you can stroll along the Santa Monica Pier and take in the street vendors and amusement rides, not to mention the great food. Just across the street from the pier you will find a shopping, entertainment experience that the whole family will love. It's called the 3rd street Promenade, and it's a world-class experience. The streets have been blocked off from traffic so that it's pedestrian traffic only. There are always street performers and shops of every imaginable kind, as well as a wide variety of eateries to please every palate. It is so enjoyable that over 6 million visitors a year make that their destination.

No matter where you roll along the southern California coast, you are going to enjoy the great, sunny energy … especially when you're traveling in a Cruise America rental RV! Book your RV rental in California today and see all that this state has to offer.
