If you are vacationing in the area of Columbia, South Carolina, you should consider doing so in one of Cruise America`s Columbia RV rentals. An RV allows you the freedom to go where you want, when you want, without having to adhere to anyone`s schedule but your own.

While in Columbia, you can take advantage of the many sights and activities that are found in this epitome of the perfect southern city. There are an abundance of playgrounds for you and your family, which come in the form of lakes, rivers, gardens, museums and historic homes. Just as enjoyable are the shops and restaurants set in historical buildings that offer a special ambiance … one that can only be found in Columbia. Be sure to visit the Riverbanks Zoo, home to over 2,000 spectacular animal exhibits, as well as one of the nation`s most beautiful and serene botanical gardens. There are scenic river views from the zoo, as well as spots that overlook significant historical landmarks. It is a priceless adventure and education for the whole family.

There are so many things to do in Columbia; you could stay busy for days. However, you have an RV, so you may as well travel to some of the surrounding areas to explore them as well. For instance:

Congaree National Park
This beautiful sanctuary is not only a research facility for biologists, but also a beautiful place for you and your family to leave your motorhome and walk amongst nature at her finest. There are giant hardwood trees mingling with pines that reach skyward. Here you can hike, camp, bird watch, picnic, canoe, kayak, or just lay back and take in the solitude and tranquility of the environment. The park is home to the largest intact track of old-growth bottomland hardwood forest in the United States. This provides one of the highest canopies of trees in the world. You can take advantage of the many guided tours by the park rangers, or you may choose to explore on your own. The park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From Columbia take SC-48 E about 19 miles and you will run into the park. It’s a great daytime experience for you and your family, but don’t count on camping there in your RV … it’s limited to tents only.

Greenville, South Carolina
This city has been named by Forbes Magazine as having one of the best downtown areas in all of America. It features a unique, one-of-a-kind "floating" suspension bridge. The town is a scenic forefront for the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. You will find a thriving arts atmosphere, as well as hundreds of unique restaurants, shops and boutiques. Greenville is home to several popular annual festivals, as well. And lastly, there are a number of beautiful RV parks in which to station your Cruise America rental motorhome during your visit. To get there from Columbia, you simply follow I-26 west for 50 miles and take Exit 51 toward Laurens/Greenfield. Travel 37 miles and take Exit 37 and follow the signs.

Traveling in an RV is a special treat for those who appreciate comfort and convenience, and it is so easy with a rental motorhome from Cruise America.
