Take a road trip this summer in an RV rental to one of the most unique events in the country, Cheyenne Frontier Days. The world’s largest rodeo returns to Cheyenne, Wyoming from July 22 through July 31, 2022. If you’re planning on attending this year’s Western celebration, here are a few things to know before you take off on your RV adventure.

Tips for an Epic Rodeo Adventure

We’re going to share four things you need to know before attending Cheyenne Frontier Days 2022.

1. Look at the Event Schedule

When planning your trip to Cheyenne Frontier Days 2022, check out the schedule of events and the event’s “Bucket Lister.” Each day offers rodeo competitions, events, and can’t-miss concerts. See some of today’s most popular country artists including, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bently, Brooks and Dunn, Sam Hunt, and many more. Be sure to browse the schedule so you can plan your trip around which acts you don’t want to miss. Get your RV rental in nearby Denver, Colorado and hit the road.

Those looking to get the full experience should add the Behind the Chutes Tour to their itinerary. Go inside the chutes, walk the arena and meet the animals in this behind the scenes look at the rodeo.

2. Dress for the Occasion

There is no better time than Cheyenne Frontier Days 2022 to whip out your cowboy hat, flannel shirt, and favorite pair of boots. Any style of clothing is acceptable at the rodeo, but it’s fun to get in the spirit and show off your best Western look. The most important thing to remember is to dress comfortably and be prepared for warm temperatures.

Wear something breathable that will keep you cool. Also, be sensible about footwear. You’ll be walking throughout the grounds the entire day, so wear shoes you won’t regret later.

Located 24 miles west of Cheyenne, Curt Gowdy State Park is a great place to stay and explore all Wyoming has to offer before or after your rodeo experience. There are plenty of trails perfect for biking, hiking, and even horseback riding.

If you’d rather stay closer to the event, consider the AB Campground, the Cheyenne KOA or extend your Western experience at the Terry Bison Ranch. Be sure to book well in advance, the RV parks fill up quickly during Frontier Days.

4. Study Up on the Rodeo

Cheyenne Frontier Days 2022 is unique in that it’s one of the only 10-day festivals featuring rodeo events throughout.
