For many families in America, camping during the summer months is a time-honored tradition. For generations, we have adventured into the great outdoors, pitching tents or sleeping directly under the stars. Today, we still have the ability to experience nature as we always have … but with some of the modern conveniences of home in a RV rental. Here are seven of our top vacation destinations for families camping in a RV this summer.

Spring Drive RV Campground: Maupin, Oregon

The Pacific Northwest may be best known for rainy days but what you may not know is that the summer months in Oregon are perfect for camping. Located within the boundaries of the Mt. Hood National Forest, Spring Drive RV Campground is popular among outdoor enthusiasts. Families can camp under the towering pines and hike through the forest where guests often stumble upon lakes, mountain streams and a variety of great picnic spots. If you can, take a drive to check out the half-mile alpine slide and other activities at the Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl

Full hookups are available, and Spring Drive’s single-family RV sites feature grass or paved parking surfaces.
