The allure of the open road, the promise of hidden gems, and the comfort of an RV — these elements converged to create an unforgettable Colorado road trip. Our adventure, made possible by Cruise America, was filled with captivating experiences. In this blog post, we'll share our adventure, from renting an RV with Cruise America to discovering unique stays through Harvest Hosts, leveraging the power of CampScanner, and making the most of CampersCard discounts. Our Colorado road trip was one to remember!

Setting the Wheels in Motion with Cruise America

As former full-time RVers, the call of the open road was one we couldn't ignore. When Cruise America offered us the opportunity to hit the road again for a Colorado road trip, we eagerly accepted. Armed with our desire to rediscover the joys of RV travel, we embarked on a journey that would take us through the enchanting landscapes of Colorado.

A Road Less Traveled with Harvest Hosts

RV travel allows for a slower, more immersive exploration of the country, and we cherish every moment. Our love for unique camping experiences led us to several Harvest Hosts locations, each offering a glimpse into the local culture and way of life.

  1. Mountain View Winery in Olathe, CO: Nestled among pear and peach orchards, Mountain View Winery welcomed us with open arms. The owner's stories and a wine-tasting session left us with lasting memories. A few bottles of wine accompanied us to our spot by the orchards, creating an ambiance of pure serenity.

  1. Ouray's Wine Delight: Our journey through Ouray introduced us to Sauvage Spectrum Wines' tasting room. The actual host location is in Palisades, CO but we love supporting local businesses while on our travels and were delighted to find that Sauvage Spectrum had a tasting room where we were staying. We enjoyed nice wine while sitting outside people-watching.

  2. Montrose's Unexpected Co-Working Haven: An unexpected twist awaited us in Montrose, where Alt Space Co-working provided a reliable workspace. Booking through their app, we found a productive environment for work calls and meetings, proving that Harvest Hosts can cater to various needs.

Securing a Campsite at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Using CampScanner

The allure of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park was irresistible, but securing a campsite can be challenging. That’s where CampScanner proved to be our hero, allowing us to set up a scan for openings at campsites in the National Park during the dates we wanted to visit.

A few days after setting up the scan, we were alerted via text message that a site was available. The booking link was available in the text, making booking our campsite at this highly desirable campground easy.

Elevating the Experience with CampersCard at Jellystone Park

Our journey reached a crescendo at Jellystone Park at Larkspur, where CampersCard played a pivotal role. This discount and perks program, brought to you by the team at Harvest Hosts, transformed our stay into a blend of luxury and affordability. With numerous amenities, from pools to fire pits, our time at Jellystone Park was enhanced with our CampersCard membership as it provided us a great discount so we could enjoy the luxury of the resort at an affordable price.

Our Colorado road trip adventure, made possible by Cruise America, Harvest Hosts, CampScanner, and CampersCard, was a testament to the enriching power of using multiple products to help make your RV trip easy, affordable, and unforgettable. From sipping wine amidst orchards to working productively at unique locations, each experience left an indelible mark. Through the lens of exploration, local support, and savvy planning, our journey affirmed that the open road is a gateway to discovering the heart and soul of America.
