Campland on the Bay

Amenities: Pet-friendly Campland on the Bay is truly a destination among San Diego RV parks on the beach. There are multiple outdoor pools, hot tubs, a game room, a skate park, a fitness center, and even a dog park. Visitors will also enjoy on-site laundry, a restaurant with live entertainment, and a market. 

Campland also has a large marina and boat ramp for water toys. Not to worry if you don’t have your own — you can rent them here! When you’re ready to venture outside of camp, SeaWorld, the world-famous San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park are just minutes away.

Amenities: The San Diego Metro KOA Resort is not short on fun activities for families RV camping in San Diego. It is just about 20 minutes away from all the top attractions in San Diego, such as SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo Safari.

At this resort, there is a 7,000-square-foot dog park, a heated swimming pool, a hot tub, a climbing wall, a playground, a basketball court, ping pong tables, a cafe, and more. Sites are equipped with a max of 50 amp hookups, Wi-Fi, and the resort even hosts movie nights under the stars!

San Elijo State Beach

Amenities: You can’t get much closer to the sand and water than San Elijo. Although it’s not technically an RV park, it’s one of the best places to camp for a waterfront experience. Since the campground stretches across a bluff that looks out over the ocean, the views from this location are nothing short of magnificent. 

On-site, enjoy paved campsites with hookups, picnic tables, Wi-Fi, and a store that provides snacks, RV supplies, and other camping essentials. Additionally, there is a dump station for RVs and a pet-friendly policy so you can bring along Fido. In the mood for underwater exploration? The reef nearby provides excellent snorkeling opportunities. Whatever adventure you choose, having San Elijo as your campground spot is a great choice.

Admiral Baker RV and Picnic Park

Amenities: This military campground is nestled in the Admiral Baker Golf Course in Mission Valley. Amenities include playground equipment for kids, an outdoor swimming pool, picnic tables, basketball and volleyball courts, ball fields, and horseshoe pits.

Pets are welcome in this San Diego RV park as long as they are leashed and cleaned up after. Active duty military members and their families can make reservations up to a year in advance. The limit for staying at the park is 30 days.

South Carlsbad State Beach

Amenities: South Carlsbad State Beach is another great place to camp with the RV and enjoy the stunning coastal views. Amenities include a camp store, fire pits, a dump station, and RV hookups in select sites. This popular campground also offers accessible sites and sites with oceanfront views.

The grounds are located just a few miles away from restaurants, hiking opportunities, and other welcoming beaches so you’ll never be lacking in activity options. In the summer, it’s common for the over 200 sites to be filled at South Carlsbad State Beach. So be sure to plan ahead of time to snag a spot!

Mission Bay RV Resort

The pet-friendly RV resort is adjacent to a large marina where guests can use the boat ramps or rent watercraft boats and stand-up paddleboards (SUP). There’s also a large, well-maintained bike path nearby.

On-site, guests enjoy Wi-Fi, grills, laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, a small boat store, dog run, storage locker rentals, and a dump station. There are some waterfront sites available.

Chula Vista RV Resort
